This is a beautiful part of Wales, with traditional market towns, stunning landscapes, canal paths, castles and plenty of outdoors activities and family attractions. The scenery here is both beautiful and diverse -
Abercrave (Abercraf) sits towards the top end of the Swansea Valley, at the edge of the Brecon Beacons National Park. Close to the village situated within Craig y Nos Country Park is the magnificent Craig y Nos Castle, an early Victorian country house, which was one of the first private residences in Britain to have electricity, now a venue for Weddings, it was expanded and developed by the celebrated opera diva, Adelina Patti.

Dan yr Ogof. Discovered in 1912, the underground caverns are the most breathtaking showcaves complex in Northern Europe.
Just to the east of Abercrave, on the southern edge of the Brecon Beacons National Park, is Sgwd Henrhyd, the tallest waterfall in South Wales with a drop of 90 feet (27 m).
Within 1 mile is the Wales Ape and Monkey Sanctuary. This loving sanctuary rescues and cares for many types of unwanted animals especially primates, such as chimpanzees, baboons, spider monkeys, capuchins and marmosets. Visitors can see a variety of animals and the work the sanctuary carry out to look after them.

Self Catering Holiday Accommodation. This cosy miners cottage has a light and the contemporary feel, sleeps up to 4 people, furnished to a high standard and is located on the outskirts of the rural village of Abercraf and sits on the edge of the Brecon Beacons National Park.
As you step in to the cottage you will find the spacious living room which has a solid oak floor and plenty of seating for the family or a special place to enjoy a cosy evening in for two, in front of the open fireplace with heat and glow coming from the log burner.

Bedroom 1 has two single beds which zip and link to make a superior king size should you require, bedroom 2 has a double bed. All beds have luxury supporting mattresses..
Fully equipped spacious kitchen, it has a washing machine, fridge with icebox, microwave, ceramic hob and oven. The kitchen units have been bespoke built by the previous owner, the attention to detail on the woodwork is amazing, the ceilings have beams that have been reclaimed from an old ship and look just the part.
Doors throughout the cottage have had door plates and handles also made and painted with flowers by hand.....the front door has also been hand made and gives the cottage a wonderful look and feel.
The bathroom is spacious and has an electric shower over the bath.
As you walk out of the backdoor, you have a small patio area with steps up to the grassed area. From here a gate leading in to the woodlands and a short walk up to the cycle route which goes right down to Ystradgynlais.
£70 per night for up to 2 people sharing.
Additional person charged at £30 per person, per night.
Accommodation sleeps up to 4 persons.
